Vernal Equinox

Today is the day when day and night are the same length and Spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere and Fall begins in the Southern Hemisphere. Called the Vernal or Autumnal Equinox in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere's respectively, this day has been celebrated for eons of time by many civilizations that knew of the seasons or astronomy. Spring comes early here in the temperate rainforest however, and flowers and trees have been blooming here for some time already. Beautiful tall red rhododendrons, and daffodils and nascissus, and plum trees have all bloomed here already. In fact the plum tree outside my bedroom window has already lost all it's baby pink blossoms and the plum tree in front of the house is covered in white flowers. The sky is appropriately blue and it is a beautifully sunny day. This is the time of year that most captive born baby boa constrictors are born here in America, so it is an exciting time. It's a good time for contemplation, and sowing seeds.
